Quickie: Olive Oil Cake

My friends and I share an obsession for Olive Oil Cake. It doesn't matter what you put in front of us. We will always reach for the good stuff--extra virgin, please! Thus, we continued our epic journey to find the perfect olive oil cake by venturing to Abraço in the East Village. I've been to this espresso bar a couple times but never noticed the cake of all cakes (#ashamed). When we got there at 4pm, we were kindly rejected. SOLD OUT. I returned the next day because I couldn't let it go. I get what I want, when I want it! While I think their coffee tastes like dirt, their olive oil cake is no joke. It's definitely on the heavier side of cakes, more pound than funfetti. This lovely loaf is lightly sweetened and pretty damn oily. While it's not as delicate as a dessert-type olive oil cake (best of the best at L'Artusi), it's a deliciously filling snack for anytime of the day.
